About the cottage
Lion Cottage is a lovely 18th century semi detached cottage. It has been refurbished to a high standard while maintaining many original features, such as an open fire, oak-beamed ceilings and exposed stonework. The cottage also has free Wi-Fi access for guests.
The cottage can be found in the centre of Birchover, within the Peak District National Park. The village has two pubs: the wonderful Red Lion and the award-winning Druid Inn (both serving excellent food), a public telephone and children’s play park.
Lion Cottage is ideally situated for exploring the Peak District on foot, by road bicycle, mountain bike or by car, and is surrounded by public footpaths in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
A home away from home! Had a lovely time, going on muddy walks, drinking lots of tea, and cosy nights by the fire. Thank you. (This was exactly what was needed, in a world that's gone a bit crazy!)

We have had a lovely comfortable stay. The cottage is in a perfect location to explore the Peak District. we enjoyed dinner at the Bulls Head in Ashford-in-the-Water, and the Woodyard in Bakewell. Dovedale is beautiful, also Monsal Dale, and a walk through Stanton Moor is scenic and interesting. Heights of Abraham good fun for the kids! We will be back to explore more.

We have had a perfect stay! The Shalimar Indian is friendly and tasty. The walk out to the Nine Ladies and back is delightful. The Devonshire Arms at Beeley - divine! Not forgetting a cream tea at the craft mill in Rowsley....! What a fabulous 50th celebration! Thank you.
